The works from the series „Packaged Goods“ are based on packaging material made of polystyrene. Usually, little attention is paid to these polystyrene objects. By transferring their appearance to glass, the objects take on a new significance. When the viewer identifies the object as packaging material, he or she has certain ideas about the object’s properties and use. It is cheap, light, consists of a plastic (polystyrene) and is normally intended to protect objects that are sensitive to impact from damage. However, this is only appearance. The object is expensive, heavy, solid and fragile. If it is damaged, sharp splinters are produced instead of soft balls. The properties usually associated with this appearance are reversed.
